Received Seoul City Environmental Award – Encouragement Prize in Environmental Technology

Gawon Landscape Engineering Office, which designed ‘Lake Palace’ in Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, was selected as the Grand Prize winner of the 2008 Seoul City Environmental Awards.
Seoul City announced on the 4th that after reviewing 92 candidates across 5 categories — Environmental Conservation, Environmental Technology, Resource Recycling, Landscaping & Ecology, and Green Village — Lee Min-woo and Ahn Se-heon of Gawon Landscape Engineering Office won the Grand Prize.
They were recognized for introducing ecological design techniques that connect the Han River and Seokchon Lake with green spaces in designing the apartment complex ‘Lake Palace’ at 44 Jamsil-dong, Songpa-gu, and for creating water-friendly spaces and children’s nature experience areas within the complex.
By category: In Environmental Conservation, the main prize went to the Green Han River Conservation Movement Headquarters, with encouragement prizes awarded to the Citizens’ Group Loving Anyangcheon, Seonjeong High School teacher Kim Dong-geun, and Seoul Green Trust.
In Environmental Technology, the main prize went to Dongmyeong Enterprise Co., Ltd., with encouragement prizes awarded to KNJ Engineering, EngineTech Co., Ltd., and Entech Bio Co., Ltd.
In Landscaping & Ecology, Korea Urban Greening Co., Ltd. (Jeong Gyeong-hwa) won the main prize, with encouragement prizes going to IS&N Engineering (Jeong Yeon-su), Acestone Engineering Co., Ltd. (Kim Ki-dong), and Landscape Design D-One (Choi Cheol-ho).
In the Green Village category, the main prize went to Hwawoo-hoe, which participated in the Ui-cheon riverside greening project in Chang 2-dong, Dobong-gu, with encouragement prizes awarded to Dongjak-gu Housewives’ Environmental Association, Suyu 5-dong Saemaul Council, and Herb Astronomy Park Volunteer Group.
The city will hold the award ceremony at 11 AM on the 5th at Taepyeong Hall in City Hall.
