Ministry of Environment Announces Selection of 4 Companies

[Gas Newspaper – Reporter Park Gui-cheol] The Ministry of Environment selected pilot project operators following the results of a public call for construction equipment engine replacement pilot projects, after undergoing suitability evaluation by an expert committee and cost adequacy verification procedures, and announced the results on the 16th.

The selected companies are E&D, Clean Earth, DNGB (formerly EngineTech), and Iljin Hysolus (formerly Iljin Composite Materials), totaling 4 companies. Among them, DNGB and Iljin Hysolus will replace diesel engines in aging forklifts with LPG engines.

The LPG engine replacement pilot project targets diesel forklifts produced before 2006 (emission rating Tier 1 or below) to be replaced with new LPG engines meeting EURO Stage 5/U.S. Tier emission standards.

The full cost of engine replacement is funded by the Ministry of Environment and local governments.
